The District Expands the DC Healthy Families Program to Include Children of up to 300 percent (June 11, 2007)
Effective June 1 the District has increased income eligibility requirements for children from 200 to
300 percent of FPL for its SCHIP program. Offering greater access to health coverage for children
who were once categorically ineligible, this expansion will address the healthcare needs of uninsured
children, thereby improving their overall health outcomes and well-being.
