The Children’s Budget
This is the city’s first ever accounting of proposed spending for children and youth. In it, readers will find some basic data about children and youth, the city’s goals for those under age 18 and budget numbers for programs for young people.
Cast Your Vote for Kids! Final Report
The votes are in! The people have spoken and have cast their vote for kids! This report contains the results of the community-driven budget identification project sponsored by DC Action for Children. The tally finds that more than 1,100 residents and workers in the District of Columbia participated in this effort related to the District’s budget for children and youth and that education, affordable housing, early care and education and after-school/recreation activities are the top four budget priorities for FY 2007.
