This report produced by the Children’s Advocacy Roundtable, a project of DC Action for Children, provides data analysis on key indicators for children selected by a subcommittee of the Roundtable. KidBits – Facts in Brief 2007 provides a summary of key data from KidBits: Using data to drive better outcomes for children and youth. This can be used as a quick reference guide for data on the District’s children and youth.
- The Accessing Guide (October 3, 2007) (PDF)
DC Action for Children has created the “Guide to Accessing Elected and Appointed Officials in the District of Columbia.” This guide is a comprehensive directory of contacts including the mayor, city council, executive officials in various government agencies, ANC commissioners and the school board. Please use this resource and tool when executing your advocacy efforts by contacting key personnel about your concerns related to important issues surrounding children and youth.
- Budget Map
This is an 11x17 "map" of the District's budget process. The map includes advocacy strategies that can be used at various points in the process. Available in PDF here and by mail.
- What's in it for kids?
Analyzes the District's budget as it relates to children, youth and their families. The annual budget analysis includes a discussion of public policies that directly affect children and youth such as the eligibility for subsidized child care and public health insurance. DC ACT accepts modest contributions for the analysis; all donations help us defray the cost of publishing the analysis.
