DC Action for Children routinely uses research to bolster our public education and advocacy work. We have found the organizations listed below to be useful in our public education and advocacy work. While this list is in no way exhaustive, we believe it is a strong foundation on which to build advocacy work.
Center for Law and Social Policy – www.clasp.org
The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) is a national non-profit that works to improve the lives of low-income people. They provide analyses of federal legislation and progressive recommendations for better laws and policies.
Child Trends – www.childtrends.org
Child Trends is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to improving the lives of children by conducting research and providing science-based information to improve the decisions, programs, and policies that affect children and their families.
Council for Court Excellence – www.courtexcellence.org
The Council works to improve the administration of justice in the local and federal courts and related agencies in the Washington metropolitan area and in the nation. They analyze current operations and offer specific suggestions for improvement.
