Since 1992, DC Action for Children (DC ACT) has aggressively worked to improve the lives of children and families in Washington DC through public awareness, advocacy, constituency building and collaboration. While we have made strides in areas of health care, and child care to name a few, we know that far too many children in our nation's capital are living in poverty, are homeless, are abused or neglected, and lack safe places to learn and grow.

In 2008, DC Action for Children will celebrate 16 years of advocacy on behalf of children and youth in our nation's capital. We're pleased to report that we achieved a number of significant accomplishments this year.
